Caddie Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
Caddie does not collect, sell, or share your personal data, and it uses no GPS or location. Your bag, rounds, and shots stay on your device and sync only through your own private iCloud account, which we have no way to access.
Caddie (“the app”) is an iPhone and Apple Watch golf tracker developed by Samuel Petrarca (“we,” “us”). This policy explains exactly what happens to your information when you use Caddie.
No location, no GPS
This is core to how Caddie works, so it’s worth stating plainly: Caddie does not use GPS or location services and contains no course database. Distances come from the target yardage you enter and the result you report after a shot — never from tracking where you physically are. The app does not request location permission.
Information you create
Everything you log in Caddie — your clubs and bag, rounds and range sessions, individual shots (the target, the conditions you enter such as wind, elevation, and temperature, the club and swing, and how the shot finished), and the stats derived from them such as your yardages, scorecard, and handicap — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData).
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Caddie, this data also syncs across your own Apple devices through Apple’s CloudKit private database. That data lives in your iCloud account. We do not operate any server that receives it, and under Apple’s CloudKit model the developer cannot read the contents of your private database. We never see your rounds.
What we don’t do
- We don’t require an account, email, or sign-up.
- We don’t use GPS, location, or any course-mapping service.
- We don’t use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We don’t sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
Information Apple processes
Parts of Caddie rely on Apple, and are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy:
- iCloud sync — handled entirely by Apple between your devices.
- Subscriptions — Caddie Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription purchased through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive or store your name, card number, or billing details. Apple provides us only with aggregate, non-identifying sales and analytics reports.
Permissions
Caddie does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or Apple Health. The only “permission” involved is your device’s existing iCloud setting, which you control in iOS Settings.
Children’s privacy
Caddie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — because we don’t collect personal information at all.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you control it. To remove it: delete data within the app, delete the app from your device, and/or remove Caddie’s data from iCloud in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Once removed from your devices and iCloud, it’s gone — we hold no copy.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Caddie handles data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
