Bump Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 7, 2026
Bump does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your training data stays on your device and syncs only through your own private iCloud account, which we have no way to access. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no trackers.
Bump (“the app”) is an iPhone and Apple Watch weightlifting tracker developed by Samuel Petrarca (“we,” “us”). This policy explains exactly what happens to your information when you use Bump. We’ve tried to write it in plain language, because the honest answer is short.
Information you create
Everything you log in Bump — your exercises, sets, reps, weights, goals, bump increments, workout history, and app preferences such as units and theme — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData).
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Bump, this data also syncs across your own Apple devices through Apple’s CloudKit private database. That data lives in your iCloud account. We do not operate any server that receives it, and under Apple’s CloudKit model the developer cannot read the contents of your private database. We never see your workouts.
What we don’t do
- We don’t require an account, email, or sign-up.
- We don’t use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- We don’t collect your location, contacts, or device identifiers for tracking.
- We don’t sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. There is no one to share it with.
Information Apple processes
Two parts of Bump rely on Apple, and are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy:
- iCloud sync — handled entirely by Apple between your devices, as described above.
- Subscriptions — Bump Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription purchased through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive or store your name, card number, or billing details. Apple provides us only with aggregate, non-identifying sales and analytics reports (for example, how many subscriptions were active in a period).
Exporting your data
Bump lets you export your full workout history as a CSV file from Settings → Export Workout History. This is initiated by you and sent only to wherever you choose via the iOS share sheet. The export never passes through us.
Permissions
Bump does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or Apple Health. The only “permission” involved is your device’s existing iCloud setting, which you control in iOS Settings.
Children’s privacy
Bump is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone — including children — because we don’t collect personal information at all.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your data lives on your device and in your iCloud, you’re in control of it. To remove it: delete your data within the app, delete the app from your device, and/or remove Bump’s data from iCloud in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Once removed from your devices and iCloud, it’s gone — we hold no copy.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Bump handles data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
